Heidi Tran –Instructional Designer at American Tower Corporation
I’ve known Zoey for more than 20 years. During the years we worked together on the same team, we collaborated on many projects, and I frequently looked to Zoey not only for her instructional design expertise, but also for her wonderful empathy — that ability to put herself in the learner’s place and design learning experiences that were (and are) meaningful and effective for learners.
Zoey has solid instructional design and eLearning development skills, enhanced by her creativity, as well as her ability to pick up complex technical language and interpret it well for various audiences. She communicates well with others, and along with that, brings professionalism and organizational skills that inspire confidence from subject matter experts and stakeholders that the project is in good hands.
We have remained good friends, even after going in separate professional directions. Over the years, I have witnessed Zoey’s dedication to her work, as well as her passion for it. Zoey is a person of high integrity and loyalty, and would be an asset to any instructional design team.

It is my privilege to offer the following professional/personal reference for Ms. Zoey Alani. I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Ms. Alani since she joined the team of JPMorgan Private Wealth Management in October 2006 as an Instructional Designer. Since I had responsibility for that role prior to her joining the team, I’m in an excellent position to measure her success.
Zoey brought a wealth of experience and expertise to the table through her education and professional expertise. It’s safe to say that her broad skills set took the team to the next level of performance. Until her arrival, we had no idea of the possibilities; Zoey demonstrated those possibilities time and again. Our client base was as delighted as we were with the computer based education that included simulations, live demonstrations and a wealth of other techniques that enhanced the training capabilities of the team and the learning opportunities for the client. She was an amazement to all.
In addition, Zoey built relationships across business lines through her resourcefulness and interaction with her peer group around the organization. Those relationships have proven to be extremely helpful in times of trial when Zoey was attempting something new; together with her new group of “friends,” she was able to offer just one more new and innovative strategy for learning.
She worked long hours to meet deadlines, always with a smile and a “let me just try one more thing” to enhance the product outcome. She tested and retested until she was happy with the result. To say she was tenacious in her desire to provide a quality course or application is an understatement. Nothing was beyond her! Other team members consistently called upon Zoey for additional help and she was always there despite her demanding schedule. Everyone knew they could count on Zoey!
On a personal level, Zoey is one of the most loyal and trustworthy individuals I’ve ever met. She believes strongly and loves openly; she makes you a better person for having her in your life. She never says “no,” which sometimes causes her more stress than she needs. Her integrity is unimpeachable and her strong personal ethics and morals are above reproach. In addition to her enormous workload, Zoey uses her personal time for the betterment of others; one small example is her commitment to being an interpreter. And no matter what challenges she may face personally, she’s always a good friend to those of us lucky enough to know her.
In summary, Zoey Alani has the experience, dedication and character that would enhance any team or organization fortunate enough to hire her.
